nap time

Nap time has always been a part of Sofi's routine.  When she's a lot younger, Sofi even had two nap times, one after bath which is around 10AM and the other one is around 2PM.  Jaims and I always made sure she gets a nap because she gets cranky a lot of times when she failed to do so.  The naps last for two hours and then she's back to her usual mood.  Since it is part of her routine, we didn't have much trouble sending her to sleep.  Milk after bath had always worked for us except on rare occasions that she has someone to play with.  When she turned a year old, her nap time was pushed after lunch.  She'd sleep for 3 hours straight and would sometimes go beyond it if nobody wakes her up or if she's feeling a bit down the weather.

Now that she's almost three, sending her to bed becomes a challenge.  Oftentimes she would make excuses like "mommy, poopoo ako" or "daddy, watch ako dora".  Sometimes she would pretend to vomit or cry until we give in.  She also uses food as an excuse --  "mommy, crackers ako",  "kain tayo rice" or "mimi pa".  She never runs out of excuses.

And today, as I was sending her to bed, she told me: "Mommy, ba't tayo sleep, di naman nightime ah!"

Haaaaay, Sofia!
